Romans 14:13-15

13 “Therefore let’s not judge one another anymore, but rather determine this: not to put an obstacle or a stumbling block in a brother’s or sister’s way. 14 I know and am convinced in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself; but to the one who thinks something is unclean, to that person it is unclean.  15 For if because of food your brother or sister is hurt, you are no longer walking in accordance with love. Do not destroy with your choice of food that person for whom Christ died.”

Verse 13: Paul urges believers to refrain from passing judgment on one another. Instead of criticizing or condemning, we are called to make a conscious decision not to place stumbling blocks or obstacles in the path of our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. This means being mindful of our actions and choices, considering how they may impact others and potentially hinder their faith.

Verse 14: Paul expresses his personal conviction that, in Christ, nothing is inherently unclean or impure. However, he acknowledges that some individuals may have personal convictions or beliefs that certain things are unclean. It is important to respect and honor these convictions, even if we may not share them ourselves. Love and unity should take precedence over personal preferences.

Verse 15: Paul emphasizes the importance of acting in love towards our fellow believers. If our actions, such as our dietary choices, cause distress or harm to a brother or sister in Christ, we are not demonstrating love. We should be mindful of how our choices may impact others and avoid causing harm or stumbling in their faith. Remember, Christ died for each and every believer, and we should treat them with the utmost love and respect.
