Ephesians 1:7-10

7 “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our wrongdoings, according to the riches of His gracewhich He lavished on us. In all wisdom and insight He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He set forth in Him, 10 regarding His plan of the fullness of the times, to bring all things together in Christ, things in the heavens and things on the earth.”

Lavished on us: God has completely covered His children with grace. Our forgiveness is complete as is our redemption. Apparently, there can’t be too much grace for Paul. It’s all grace or nothing at all. The magnitude of grace lavished on God’s children gives total forgiveness for all sins and total redemption. We don’t need to chase more of what we already have.

Mystery: God’s mystery and will in Ephesians 1 is the summing up of all things, Jews and Gentiles, in Christ. This is what was predestined ahead of time (Ephesians 1:11-13).
