Romans 12:1-2

“Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.”

Present your bodies: Paul encourages a living lifestyle of worship. Believers can present their bodies to God as tools for him to use. This action is not the offering of a dead sacrifice. This sacrifice is living because Jesus has saved us. Believers’ body, soul, and spirit are totally acceptable to God. Our bodies are a tool to express the alive spirit.

Do not be conformed…but be transformed: There is the journey for the Christian. As much as we are righteous, our minds still need to be renewed. Our emotions cannot be renewed but our thoughts can be conformed to God’s truth. And as our belief systems are conformed to truth, we will see a change in our behavior.
