Romans 5:1-1

¹ “Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,”

The Gospel of grace leads to peace with God. Whereas the law expresses the animosity between unbelievers and God caused by sin, the Gospel provides the solution to this division. When we believe in Jesus, we are given peace with God. Christians often say that God is mad at them or distant from them. But this is not the Gospel according to Paul. Because of Jesus’ finished work, we are at peace with God. This means that God is not wrathful towards Christians. God is a peacemaker, not a sender of destruction.
