1 Corinthians 6:7-11

7 “Actually, then, it is already a defeat for you, that you have lawsuits with one another. Why not rather suffer the wrong? Why not rather be defrauded? On the contrary, you yourselves do wrong and defraud. And this to your brothers and sisters!Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor those habitually drunk, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.”

Why not rather be defrauded?: Paul is expressing the importance of preserving the unity of the faith. According to Paul there is wisdom in being willing to lose at times in order to preserve unity. It is better to lose an argument with a fellow believer than to lose a relationship.

Neither the sexually immoral…kingdom of God: Paul is not speaking about believers who struggle with such sins but rather those who were once enslaved to such behaviors. Clarity is further found in verse 11. Paul reminds the Corinthian churches that they were once enslaved to sin but are no longer in such a state. They were washed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and the Spirit of our God.
