Galatians 5:13-15

“For you were called to freedom, brothers and sisters; only do not turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but serve one another through love. 14 For the whole Law is fulfilled in one word, in the statement, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 15 But if you bite and devour one another, take care that you are not consumed by one another.”

Called to freedom: Christians are called to freedom from the law. We are saved apart from the law and are to live apart from the law (see Colossians 2:6).

Opportunity for the flesh: Christians can give opportunity for the flesh. We can abuse grace. But we will be miserable. Just as there is no compatibility between law and Gospel so is there no compatibility between sin and the Christian. Instead, we are built to express love and righteousness.
