Philippians 4:10-14

10 “But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked an opportunity to act11 Not that I speak from need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. 12 I know how to get along with little, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. 13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me. 14 Nevertheless, you have done well to share with me in my difficulty.”

Paul learned that the secret to contentment was Christ. Christ is that which is longed for by the heart. When we believe in Him, we find true spiritual rest. This allows us to have peace whether we have much or have little. So, when Paul says that he could do all things through Christ, he was not talking about achieving anything we want in life. In context, he is referring to contentment in the midst of life. Paul is clearly not teaching prosperity theology or any type of earthly victory. Christ did not die to achieve health, wealth, and abundance for people. He died to give people contentment in the midst of whatever circumstances arise.
