Hebrews 2:5-8

For He did not subject to angels the world to come, about which we are speaking. But someone has testified somewhere, saying,

‘What is man, that You think of him?
Or a son of man, that You are concerned about him?
You have made him for a little while lower than angels;
You have crowned him with glory and honor;
You have put everything in subjection under his feet.’

For in subjecting all things to him, He left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we do not yet see all things subjected to him.”

Jesus is being compared to angels throughout chapters 1 and 2 of Hebrews. This is significant because angels delivered the Old Covenant to Moses on Mt. Sinai (Acts 7: 38; Acts 7:53; Galatians 3:19; Hebrews 2:2). The Old Covenant is, therefore, an innately inferior covenant because it was not delivered by the Son of God. The New Covenant is the superior covenant because it comes from the very body and blood of Jesus (see Luke 22:20). Therefore, we ought not mix a message delivered by angels with a message delivered by Jesus.
