Romans 2:5-5

^5 “But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God,”

Some may be tempted to interpret this passage, and those before it, as pertaining to believers. But Paul makes the audience clear in verse 5: He is speaking to those who have unrepentant hearts. It is unbelievers who fall under the wrath of God described in chapter 1. Believers have an obedient heart (Romans 6:17). This means that believers are repentant at the core of their beings. But those who do not believe are storing up divine wrath.
